BDCS Mobile Playgroup and Toy Library began in 1987. Funding is provided by the Federal Government under the BBF Program. Our service is registered and licensed as a children’s service under the Department of Education.

Our Mobile Playgroup provides developmentally appropriate programs that cater for children's individual needs from birth to twelve years. Our Mobile Educators provide educational playgroup sessions in town as well as travelling to a number of properties and villages within the Bourke Shire based on a five week itinerary.

Our Mobile Service also provides a toy library where resources such as puzzles, games, outside toys and construction toys can be borrowed. Families living in town can borrow for two weeks and out of town families can borrow for four weeks. Annual toy library membership is $11 per family and $1 for each item borrowed. The Toy library is open every Thursday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm during the school term. Alternatively, an appointment can be made by contacting the office on (02) 6830 8100.
